Lorraine Davis

Integrative Psychotherapist - UKCP registered

My experience

Practicing as an Integrative Psychotherapist (UKCP registered) means I am not aligned to one approach. I draw from a framework of different therapeutic models, and techniques using them creatively and flexibly for each individual that I work within a unique way.

I believe that trauma, depression, ruminating thoughts, and anxiety arises out of relational experiences, or from a lifetime of experience. This affects how we perceive and react in relationships, along with the perception of self. The outcome is cycles of distress, despair, and emotional problems.

I have experience of working with adult clients on a range of problems including: depression, generalised anxiety, panic attacks, trauma (emotional, physical, sexual), PTSD, anger management, personality disorders, victimisation, addiction, and other relationship issues. I have a particular interest in adultery, infidelity, and the impact of betrayal regardless of the role of the individual. I also undertake work with couples too.

Clients have shared I am understanding, intuitive, insightful, and a great listener, as well as someone they feel comfortable with. I am interested in building a trusting relationship to help create insight into thoughts, feelings and behaviours, that create unhelpful patterns of relating, and distress.
