NCPS Senior Accredited Counsellor
About Me
I have worked as a counsellor since 1999, initially in a GP surgery before going into private practice. My approach to counselling is Person-Centred. Clients will experience genuine acceptance and a valuing of who they are. In this environment, I work alongside my clients, helping them to openly explore issues and supporting them through that process. A greater understanding of themselves can be gained from which there is positive personal growth.
I have much experience working with both couples and individuals. Couple counselling is a particular interest of mine as is Autism of which I have a good knowledge and understanding. I also work as a supervisor to other Person-Centred therapists.
Events in life can result in tough times and the difficulties that arise from them can overwhelm, be troubling, isolating. It really helps to talk, be truly understood and I aim to create a safe space for you do this. I am compassionate, empathic and work sensitively to understand and help make sense of how you feel. No matter how big or small people consider their problems to be, I think it is the person and how they feel about them that matters most of all.
